On 12 May 2015, Ton Duc Thang University and Civil Engineering Faculty welcome delegates from IMOB, research institute of the Hasselt University in Ho Chi Minh City. Leading the delegation, Prof Dr. Ansar- UI- Haque Yasar and Ms. Patricia Hellriegel had a meeting with representatives of Ton Duc Thang University, including Mr. Nguyen Tan Phu – Vice Director of International Cooperation, Research and Training Institute (INCRECTI), Dr. Tran Minh Tung - Vice Dean of Civil Engineering Faculty, Dr. Trinh Tu Anh - Head of Urban Planning and Environment Department, Dr. Ngo Le Minh - Head of Architecture Department.

At the beginning of first day meeting, on behalf of TDTU, Ms. Nguyen Van Anh from INCRECTI introduced about Ton Duc Thang University and what the university has achieved during its operation. After that, Mr. Nguyen Tan Phu discussed the potentials for cooperation in education and research between TDTU and Hasselt University in general, and the IMOB in particular. After that, The Civil Engineering Faculty introduced about activities, staffs and strengths of each Departments and Faculty.

After two days of meeting, The IMOB and Civil Engineering Faculty clarified some aspects of their collaboration such as students exchange and staff exchange (among bachelor degree in Architecture), master program in Transportation, especially the preparation for CUTE conference in 2016. Moreover, they also focused on research collaboration between two universities. What topics are, the role of each partner or how to apply fund were also discussed in detail.
Closing the meeting, both parties hope this is a fruitful kick-off meeting related to future work and hope to find ways for successful collaboration in future.
