On 30th May 2015, the Faculty Civil Engineering – Ton Duc Thang University cooperated with SIKA LTD (Vietnam) organized the workshop "Waterproofing for Construction – Sika Building Trust" at room D501, Ton Duc Thang University, Tan Phong Ward, District 7.

Mr. Nguyen Trung Dinh – Director of Business Cooperation and Alumni Center  - Ton Duc Thang University; Dr. Tran Chuong – Faculty Dean; Dr. Tran Minh Tung – Vice Dean; Mr. Adam Jeffrey Sharp, Tran Ngoc Dinh - Building Systems Manager; lecturers of faculty, employees of Sika LTD (Viet Nam) and nearly 200 students of the Civil Engineering Faculty.

At the beginning, Dr. Tran Chuong – Faculty Dean shared his opinions and opened the workshop.

Mr. Adam Jeffrey Sharp presented the history of Sika LTD. Sika Vietnam has archived remarkable growth after 20 years of operation in Vietnam market, due to the development of top quality, innovative and technology of leading products.

Then, the presentation began with sharing waterproofing situations with existing problems in Vietnam and over the world. Mr. Tran Ngoc Dinh gave the objective comparison of many products on the market at that present so that enabled students to access to practical knowledge in the field of construction as well as waterproofing today.

Students answered questions excitedly

The workshop interested a large attention of the students of Construction Industry – Urban Planning – Architecture. A lot of questions were given very excitedly which discussed about construction methods, the effectiveness of projects, the longevity and reliability of the products...

In the morning of Thursday, 5th May 2015, Faculty of Civil Engineering organized academic activities at the conferences room C of Ton Duc Thang University. Participant to the activities were representative of leaderships, lecterures, staffs of Faculty of Civil Engineering.

In academic activitie this month, Mr. Vo Van Thao – Deparment of Transportation Engineering had presented the subject “Predicting optimal size of bored pile in loose sand ensure allowable bearing pressure and the ultimate settlement”

The activity has gotten many interests and attention. Dr. Tran Minh Tung suggested futher research in case pile in multi layer soils. Dr. Le Duc Hien suggested considering the conditions and any equation constraint equation matching research contents.
